Answers to the most common questions. For everything else, write to us: a person replies.

Technical problem, subscription, exercising your data rights, a legal question or a suggestion: one address for everything.

Have you just been caught out?

Don't wait for our reply, and don't wait for a check. Call your bank immediately to stop the payment and report the transaction: the number is on the back of your card.

Then report it to the police in your country, and to the relevant national fraud reporting service. In France: cybermalveillance.gouv.fr, Pharos, Signal Spam, or 33700 for a fraudulent text message. If anyone is in immediate danger, call 112.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up, no email, no password and no social login. On first launch the app creates an invisible anonymous technical identifier, used only to attach your quotas and any subscription. It is all set out in the privacy policy.

What happens to the message I paste?

It is analysed on our servers, in Europe, and then not kept: neither in a database nor in technical logs. All we retain is an irreversible fingerprint of the message and the verdict, for a few days, so that the thousands of people receiving the same text get an instant answer. That fingerprint cannot be used to reconstruct the text. Your content is never used to train a model.

Can I trust the result?

Bimo estimates a risk; it guarantees nothing. A low score means “no signs of risk found”, never “this is safe”: a well-crafted scam with no verifiable link or number can go unnoticed. Conversely, a legitimate message can push the score up. Always read the findings, not just the number, and the full disclaimer.

What's free, and what does Premium add?

Every check (a message, a link, a number, an IBAN, a screenshot) uses one peanut. Bimo gives you a few on installation and hands one back every week. Free, without counting: helping a relative, the educational guides and the history: whoever helps never pays. Premium removes the counters: unlimited checks, several trusted people, unlimited advice requests and automatic alerts. Details are in the subscription terms.

How do I subscribe to Premium?

From the subscription screen in the app, through your Apple or Google account. The plans and the exact price are shown in the app, for your country and store: that is the only up-to-date reference. The terms (renewal, cancellation, any trial, refunds) are in the subscription terms.

How do I cancel my subscription?

From your store account. On iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Bimo → Cancel. On Android: Google Play → profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Bimo → Cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for. Uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription. During the free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends to avoid being charged.

I changed phone: how do I get Premium back?

Open the subscription screen and tap “Restore purchases”, signed in with the same Apple or Google account you used to buy it. A purchase made on the App Store cannot be transferred to Android, or the other way round. Note that restoring covers the subscription: your links with trusted people may need to be set up again, since the anonymous identifier belongs to the installation.

How do trusted people work?

The person keeping watch generates a six-digit code, valid for a few minutes; the person who wants help enters it. No directory, no access to your contacts. After that, you send a check to whoever you choose, whenever you choose: they see only what you send them, never your history. Either of you can break the link at any time.

A screenshot is a photo. Does it go online?

No. The text in the image is read on your phone, by the operating system's text recognition (Vision on iPhone, ML Kit on Android). Only the recognised text is sent for analysis, exactly as if you had pasted it. The image itself never leaves the device.

Is there advertising?

None. No banners, no interstitials, no advertising identifier, no data shared for targeting. In an app where people paste their private messages, advertising had no place. The subscription funds the service.

Does Bimo block calls and texts?

No. Bimo intercepts nothing and acts only on what you submit to it. It is not antivirus software, not a call filter and not a firewall. It is a checking tool: you have a doubt, you ask, it answers and explains.

How do I delete my data?

Your history can be cleared from the History screen. To erase everything on the server side (profile, counters, trusted links, advice requests), use Settings → Delete my account: the operation is immediate and permanent. Full details are on the Delete my account page. Uninstalling erases the data left on the device. If a subscription is active, remember to cancel it separately from your Apple or Google account.

I disagree with a result.

Every check has a button to dispute the result. It is our main quality measure and the raw material for improvements: the disagreement is sent without the analysed content, with only the level obtained. You can also write to us describing the case.

Which devices and which languages?

iPhone and Android, in several languages and countries. The reference data (which scams, which impersonated organisations, which reporting channels) is tailored to your country: interface language and country are two separate settings. Release on the stores is imminent.

Report a bug or suggest an idea

From the app settings, or by email to [email protected], ideally with your phone model and the app version (shown at the bottom of the settings). Your feedback shapes the next updates directly.
